Dog Walking Terms and Conditions

Here are all the boring legal bits…

These terms and conditions apply to our dog walking services only. For terms and conditions that apply to our other services, please contact us.

  1. All clients will be deemed to have accepted Waggy’s Walks’ terms and conditions for all services on the booking of those services.

  2. By booking, the client gives Waggy’s Walks permission to enter their property to deliver the arranged services at the date and time agreed.

  3. All dogs must:

    1. be in a secure location prior to the arrival of Waggy’s Walks (not loose in a garden).

    2. wear a collar complete with a tag engraved with contact details of the owner.

    3. have their own collar/harness and lead. Waggy’s Walks will not provide a collar or lead unless agreed separately and will not be held liable for any injury or damage caused or incurred by poor fitting or faulty equipment provided by the client.

  4. Waggy’s Walks will not provide any services until an onboarding consultation has taken place with the owner to ensure that the services are appropriate for your dog’s needs.

  5. During onboarding, the owner must disclose any behaviour or medical condition which could make their dog unsuitable for dog walking services, e.g. aggression, joint problems etc.

  6. Waggy’s Walks reserve the right to refuse further services for any dogs that we feel are unsuitable for our walking services.

  7. All dogs must be registered with a vet and details must be provided before services are delivered. In the event of an emergency, we will contact the nominated emergency contact before taking the dog to the vet if necessary. Any vet costs incurred and not covered by our insurance must be paid upon the collection of the dog.

  8. Wherever possible all dogs will be taken to their usual vet; however, this won’t always be possible and Waggy’s Walks handlers may at their discretion use any registered vet.

  9. Group walks take place in parks or forests where it’s safer to walk dogs off the lead, providing the owner has explicitly consented to their dog being walked off lead.

  10. On group walks, a maximum of 6 dogs will be walked with one handler; however, groups may be smaller in size depending on the temperament and location of dogs. Wherever safe to do so, Waggy’s Walks prefer to walk larger groups for the enjoyment of the dogs in that group.

  11. If any dog contracts an infectious condition, e.g. kennel cough, the owner must inform Waggy’s Walks prior to their next booked walk. No dogs with infectious conditions will be walked until being given an all-clear by their vet or deemed to be healthy by a representative of Waggy’s Walks.

  12. All dogs should be up to date with their vaccinations and must be treated for fleas/worms regularly.

  13. Despite vaccinations, it’s possible that your dog may pick up an infectious condition from any other dog in their group. Waggy’s Walks accept no responsibility for this and the owner agrees they will not hold Waggy’s Walks responsible.

  14. All dogs will be wiped down upon return using Waggy’s Walks’ towels; however, we offer no guarantee that dogs will be clean and will not be held liable for any damage caused by your dog upon their return.

  15. Wherever possible and safe to do so, services will be delivered even in adverse weather conditions; however, the length or location of walks may change to ensure the comfort and safety of dogs and handlers.

  16. All dogs are fully insured to travel in any Waggy’s Walks vehicle and by booking any walking service, you give Waggy’s Walks permission to transport your dog.

  17. All Waggy’s Walks handlers are comprehensively insured to cover public liability, vet fees and loss; however, all dogs must be covered by their own insurance policy and we reserve the right to refuse to deliver services where a policy is not in place.

  18. Cover for injury to animals in the care of Waggy’s Walks is subject to a limit and does not cover any pre-existing medical conditions or events that would’ve occurred regardless of being in the care of Waggy’s Walks.

  19. A key and any applicable alarm codes must be provided upon onboarding and will be stored securely using physical lockboxes, a coding system and a digital vault.

  20. Waggy’s Walks will leave your home as they found it, e.g. setting any alarm systems that were active on their arrival and re-locking any doors/gates that were locked on their arrival.

  21. Waggy’s Walks handlers take lots of photos and videos to be used in our marketing and/or advertising. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, by booking a service the owner agrees to us capturing and using photos and videos of their dog/s and all media will remain property of Waggy’s Walks.

  22. All dogs are closely supervised during walks; however, the owner accepts that dogs may sustain injuries through play or exploration, e.g. scratches, muscular injuries etc, that occur even despite supervision and agrees not to hold Waggy’s Walks liable for injuries sustained.

  23. Walks can be cancelled at any time; however, any services cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled visit will still be charged in full. Services cancelled before that time will not be charged.

Payment

Payment for walking services can be made via bank transfer or cash and you will be invoiced in arrears at the end of each month.

All payment details will be available on the invoice and an email receipt will be provided upon payment. All payments should be made within 2 weeks (14 days) of the invoice and interest may be incurred after that point at the base rate set out by the Bank of England.
